Material science particles: Metals

Nanoscale science and technology are rapidly growing in the field of traditional metallurgy. Synthesis, characterization and analysis of nanoscaled particles is important part of powder metallurgy and particulate materials engineering. AFM images of Ni-powder are shown on this page. Topography image, 20x20 microns, with particles outlined for analysis are shown on figure1. Volume vs. height and radius distribution for those particles is shown on Figure2. 3.6x3.6 micron scan of single particle in 3D view is shown of figure3. Surface roughness measurements on the very top of the single particle can be seen on figure4.
